BBO - Community projects across England support people into work training and education

More than 60 projects in 18 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) areas are now open for application, worth more than £132.6 million investment.

What are the funding opportunities for?

The projects are designed to tackle poverty and promote social inclusion, especially helping the most disadvantaged to overcome a huge range of challenges in their lives and in their communities.

They include:

  • providing help for those with multiple and complex needs,
  • improving employability for the most disadvantaged and
  • improving their financial literacy.

Which LEP areas have open calls?

The calls are available in the following LEP areas

  1. Buckinghamshire Thames Valley
  2. Cornwall and Isles of Scilly
  3. Cumbria
  4. Dorset
  5. Heart of South West
  6. Lancashire
  7. Leeds City Region
  8. Liverpool City Region
  9. London
  10. New Anglia
  11. North East
  12. Oxfordshire
  13. Solent
  14. South East
  15. Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire
  16. The Marches
  17. Worcestershire
  18. York, North Yorkshire and East Riding

Is your organisation eligible?

Any organisation is eligible to apply, however most of the projects will be better suited to partnership working. There is a summary of the partnership requirements on the Big Lottery website.

There are no match funding requirements.

Where can your organisation get support?

If you are interested in applying, there is support available to potential applicants and grant holders to understand, plan for and deliver the additional requirements that come with managing European funding. For further information about this support visit

Deadline for applications is 30 November 2015.

Note that a small number of additional funding opportunities will be available in early 2016.
