Information on how long all ESF documents need to be retained.

Programme Records 2007-2013

Documents for the 2007-2013 programme period need to be retained until the end of 2022 at the earliest. The Managing Authority will advise beneficiaries of the final date for document retention when it receives the final programme payment from the Commission. Final claims for expenditure will be made by 23 October 2015.

Programme Records 2000-2006

The three year retention period following final payment by the European Commission has now begun for all programmes supported by ESF in the 2000-2006 period.
Destroy dates vary from 31/08/2014 to 15/01/2016.

Programme Records 1994-1999

For partners and providers who still have documentation (hard copy and electronic) relating to the 1994-1999 ESF programme period, these can now be destroyed.
However, this does not apply to the 2000-2006 documents, all documents relating to 2000-2006 period still need to be retained.
