You are invited to an event that aims to:

-       update the VCS on developments with Big Lottery Fund's role in ESF 2014-20

-       identify ways that NCVO and EFN members can support BIG in their planning

-       present the VCS offer to the LEP and BIG in terms of lessons about contract design, commissioning, project development.

10:00  Welcome by Chair and context setting (progress with LEP ESIF strategies, next steps, overview of BLF’s opt in allocation nationally)


10:15  Big Lottery Fund’s role in ESF (Jonathan Clark, Big Lottery)


10:35  London LEP’s perspective on BLF (Emma Stewart, Timewise and London LEP employment and skills subgroup)


10:55  London example: indicative allocations and proposed activities for BLF match within London ESIF 2014-2020 strategy (Steve Kerr, LVSC)


11:00  Facilitated discussion:

  • VCS offer of support for priority setting for BLF programmes, developing mechanisms for provision of local intelligence, identification of need, making the most of our strategic links; fostering innovation and new activities


11:30  Tea and coffee break


12:00  Facilitated discussion (break into 2 groups):

  • Lessons about contract design, commissioning, PBR models, timescales, balancing risk with reach into disadvantaged communities, contract size, subcontracting/lead bodies, etc


12:40  Feedback from groups and next steps


13:00  Close
